From England to Timbuktu in a Flying Car
Gilo Cardozo, a paramotor manufacturer (picture a parachute with a giant fan) had the notion four years back to attach a paramotor assembly to a car.
The result, he’s about to take halfway around the world. The vehicle is a modified Rage Motorsport off-road racing buggy, and flies at speeds up to 80mph. With chief pilot and expedition organiser Neil Laughton, Cardozo will fly and drive the two-seater more than 3,700 miles to Timbuktu. Setting off on January 14, they will take about 40 days to reach the city in Mali, west Africa.
Somehow, it’s … different than I’d pictured. But hey, flying car!
No commentsPhotonic Laser Thruster Could Take Us to Mars in a Week
Just not this week.
Inventor/Professor Young Bae will be demonstrating the first viable photonic laser thruster at the American Institue of Aeoronautics and Astronautics Space Conference next week.
Developed with funding from NASA’s NIAC, the photonic laser thruster (boy that’s fun to say) is tiny, made with off-the-shelf parts, and has the potential to propel spacecraft to speeds greater than 100 km/sec ( 3700 mph ). Zoom.
