From England to Timbuktu in a Flying Car
Gilo Cardozo, a paramotor manufacturer (picture a parachute with a giant fan) had the notion four years back to attach a paramotor assembly to a car.
The result, he’s about to take halfway around the world. The vehicle is a modified Rage Motorsport off-road racing buggy, and flies at speeds up to 80mph. With chief pilot and expedition organiser Neil Laughton, Cardozo will fly and drive the two-seater more than 3,700 miles to Timbuktu. Setting off on January 14, they will take about 40 days to reach the city in Mali, west Africa.
Somehow, it’s … different than I’d pictured. But hey, flying car!

Mr. Future’s secret identity revealed!
As part of my ( beloved ) day job, I invent electronic toys for Atomocom. We just had a bang-up great Toy Fair ‘08 showing, and to make a good week even better, New York Magazine just ran a small Toy Fair aftermath/artifact blurb on yours truly.

The four-story fire-breathing car-crushing robot, Robosaurus, will be on the block this January 12-20 at the annual Barret Jackson Collector Car Event / Auction in Scottsdale Arizona.
The beloved engine of destruction and noise has been a favorite in the monster-truck circuit since 1990. Owning it, I’m sure, has been the dream of every nine year old that’s watched it messily dissect a Buick.
So if you bought your own four-story fire-breathing car-crushing robot, what would you do with it?
(A: Anything you wanted to. )
